The purpose of this bond is to provide security for any person who may suffer loss or damage because of the nonperformance of the principal named herein, his agents, or employees while engaged in the performance of work as a general contractor, subcontractor, builder, remodeler, home improvement contractor, or other similar occupation as defined by law.  This bond shall not be construed to cover any liability arising from the negligence of the principal, his agents, or employees.
